Cookie settings

Short version: no tracking, no advertising cookies, no analytics. Two notes are kept in your browser so the site remembers your choices, and you can clear both at any time.

What is stored in your browser

Wildies Review uses your browser's local storage, which works like a cookie that never leaves your device. We keep exactly two entries there.

NameWhat it remembersHow long
wldreview-consentYour answer to the cookie notice, accepted or declinedKept until you delete it
wldreview-offer-seenA note that the offer window has already opened by itself once, so it does not pop up on its own againKept until you delete it

Neither entry does anything beyond this. They contain no name, no e-mail and no identifier that could follow you to another site, and they are never sent to our server.

What we do not use

There are no analytics tools, no advertising networks, no social media widgets and no embedded videos on this site. Because nothing from third parties is loaded, no third-party cookies can be set while you read our pages. Declining the notice therefore changes nothing about how the site works; it simply records your preference.

Once you leave for Wildies through a partner button, Wildies applies its own cookie policy and stores whatever that policy describes. You will see its notice there and can make a separate choice.

Choosing again

Press "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page to bring the notice back; a new answer simply replaces the old one. To remove both entries completely, clear the site data for this address in your browser settings: in Chrome and Edge under Privacy and security, in Firefox under Privacy and Security, and in Safari under Settings, then Safari, then Advanced, then Website Data.

If you block storage altogether, the site still works. The only difference is that the notice and the offer window may appear again on your next visit.

Why we still show a notice

Strictly necessary storage does not need your consent under the UK rules on cookies and similar technologies, and ours is only that. We show the notice anyway, because we think readers should know what a site keeps on their device before it keeps it, and because a clear yes or no is easier to trust than a line hidden in a policy. Your answer is stored so the notice does not return on every page.

Send any question about this page to [email protected]. More about how we handle data, including server logs and e-mails, is in our privacy notice.
